What happened to St. Joseph's Village?

St. Joseph's closed around 1971 and was given to the
county government.  The county has since been making use
of the buildings for various programs.

Currently the facility houses the intermediate nursing care
facility for the aged (Infirmary and Girls Cottages), an
adolescent drug treatment program (Convent), more than
one special school program (School and Gymnasium
Building) and a new vocational high school that was
constructed in back of the boys dormitories.

The county has done extensive renovations and provides
day to day maintenance of the buildings and grounds.
